Flap less /Key hole Dental implant surgery is a technique where implants are placed without raising the flap (gums), where as Conventional implant placement requires considerable manipulation of the soft tissue prior to implant placement. The main drawback of the conventional technique is healing time which takes minimum of 60 days. Flapless implant techniques can be broadly divided in to unaided flap less procedure or guided flapless technique. We, at The Dental Specialists, promote minimal invasive flapless surgery with the use of image guided system, especially who are coming to Hyderabad from other cities of India and other countries exclusively for this procedure as this flapless procedure has various advantages like

    • Minimal trauma during the surgical procedure.
    • Maintenance of blood supply surrounding the crestal bone (no bone loss).
    • Faster healing (no sutures are required)
    • Immediate loading of permanent prosthesis .
    • Beneficial technique for diabetic and hypertensive patients.

Image Guided Surgery Technique for Implants

Guided Surgery technique makes the ultimate usage of computer technology and merges it with actual surgical procedures to assure precision and perfection in the placement of implants. The system consists of an elaborate method of digitalizing the patient data and then using the digital information to confirm the placement of the implant in the exact location in the Bone. The software takes the CT data and reconstructs a virtual 3D digital model of the maxilla or the mandible displaying all the critical structures with their accurate position and size. The software also allows cross sectional view as well as panoramic views. This virtual 3D model is used to create the treatment plan. The critical anatomical structures such as the inferior alveolar nerve, the maxillary antrum, the nasal cavity and adjacent teeth are defined and are mapped out so that they can be avoided during the operation. The software also allows assessment of bone density to determine the optimal location of implant for the best possible Osseo-integration. Then a virtual implant can be selected from varying options of lengths, diameters and implant companies. The virtual implant can then be placed in an optimal position based on the available information from the software and the virtual 3Dmodel. The software ensures if multiple implants are placed they remain parallel to each other and are set in the required prosthetic configuration.

Key Hole Surgery Technique for Dental Implants

Surgical Template Guided Technique (Noble Guide/Simplant System/Implant 3D)
There are a number of specialized software systems available today, which can gather data from digital CT Scan and provide virtual 3D models of the maxilla or the mandible and allow cut sections to be made of the surgical area and also very easily identify all the critical structures and landmarks in the surrounding area. Based on this virtual 3D model this software in conjunction with CNC machine can develop a real time model of the maxilla or the mandible and devise a surgical stent which is placed on the jaw prior to the surgery. This stent will then guide the drill to enable an osteotomy or multiple osteototomies of the precise location, angulation and depth. In fact this method allows prefabrication of the entire prosthesis prior to implant placement. On the day of the surgery, the surgical template assures accurate positioning and placement of the implant with depth stops. As soon as the implants are in place the pre-fabricated prosthesis can be attached onto the implants. The surgical stent will assure depth control as it will disallow any deeper movement of the hand piece. The angulation and diameters are fixed by default due to the surgical stent which just does not allow the drills to approach the surgical site in any other angle.

Very Happy With The Dental Implants

I am very happy with the implants done by Dr.Venkat and his team. My treatment was done under ABS Scheme - Arogyabhadrata- ACP Bhaskar Rao
